Matthew has lived in four countries and somehow managed to bring his cat with him to two of them. Alongside his wife Avital and their daughter Shylee, he’s focused on filling Shylee’s passport with semi-annual transatlantic trips, proving that travel doesn’t have to stop once you have kids — it just changes a little.
As someone who now travels with a toddler, a family schedule, and way too much gear, Matthew brings a practical perspective to the show. He’s interested in the balance between points, comfort, value, and the reality of modern travel when everything doesn’t go perfectly according to plan.

Marty Paz
Marty has been deep in the travel world since 2004, when a Google search for free first-class upgrades led him to Flyertalk and accidentally turned travel into a full-blown hobby. Since then, he’s visited more than 65 countries and helped countless people book smarter and better trips using points, miles, and loyalty programs.
He’s also a longtime speaker and organizer of Chicago Seminars, one of the original miles-and-points community events, running since 2010. Between the seminars, the trips, and founding the Virgin Atlantic Gold Card Facebook group, Marty brings years of firsthand knowledge and experience to Landings & Layovers, along with the occasional story about a mileage run or travel situation that probably shouldn’t have worked but somehow did.
